Product Description
Details

If you find excessive noise is coming from your CPAP mask or tubing, then a QTube CPAP Muffler can help.

Some combinations of machine, tube and mask can cause the turbulent air to create an echoing noise through the circuit.

The QTube CPAP Muffler reduces the turbulence, and therefore the noise it creates. It can reduce this noise by 50-80%.

Please note this will not reduce noise coming from the machine itself, or any whistling noise from the CPAP mask's exhalation port. It is only intended to reduce noise from the tubing and mask.

The QTube CPAP Muffler contains the muffler itself, and a short tube to connect from that to the CPAP machine. Your regular hosing then connects to the other end of the muffler.

IMPORTANT: The CPAP Muffler should not be used with a water-based humidifier, as the filter inside may become saturated. However, most humidifiers act as a muffler anyway, and therefore this would not be required when using one.

It is recommended to change the filter in the QTube Muffler after two weeks of continuous use. You can purchase additional filters here.

All the CPAP reviews talk about noise. But, as far as I can make out, they're talking about how much noise your partner will hear. For the CPAP user, your face is connected directly to a fan by a tube. The noise is literally piped in. I'm guessing this is a failure by the manufacturers, because the quiet home machines are designed to accommodate a humidifier. And that means they aren't so bothered about noise suppression for no humidifier users.
Oh well, the QTube does a pretty good job. It attaches to the air out port using a special short hose, and my normal hose goes into the back of the QTube. It requires regular 14 day changing of a rectangle of foam pad (and two other bits). This bit of foam cost circa £8.50. I'm not sure the QTube bayonet change-over system is durable.
It has made all the difference. I'd got the mask right. I'd got the straps right. I'd got the CPAP set right. But it was incredibly noisy. And now it is a lot quieter. I don't have to listen to thunderstorm white noise (to mask the racket coming from my face) anymore.
It's just a shame the the replacement kits are shockingly expensive for very little. But I do sleep. And the QTube bayonet isn't going to last - I've got a spare now.

Was a bit sceptical, but had to sort out the noise coming from the machine somehow. It seemed a bit small to have any effect. But it actually does work- really cuts down the noise, by maybe 80-90%.
