Basic cleaning of your CPAP mask should be done on a daily basis. To maximise the life of your mask use non-corrosive wipes to avoid damaging cushion materials. For example, Contour CPAP Mask Wipes are specially formulated to provide a good clean without damaging the mask. As well as a quick daily clean, a thorough washing of your mask is recommended on a fortnightly basis.

Even with regular cleaning, bacteria will build up in your CPAP system over time. There are many parts that cannot be reached easily, such as the inside of the tubing. Even more so, the inside of the CPAP machine itself cannot be reached at all. Studies have shown CPAP patients are more likely to suffer from air-borne illnesses. Germs populating in those hard-to-clean areas exacerbates the problem further.

This is where a sanitising unit comes in, and the SoClean 2 CPAP Cleaner is the leading device designed specifically for CPAP equipment. It is quick and easy to use, sterilising your equipment in a matter of minutes. The SoClean works by generating activated oxygen, which is toxic to germs and bacteria, leaving your CPAP free of germs and bacteria. Find out more about the SoClean here.
